Frequently Asked Questions

Real questions about how Undefeated: Gridiron Legends works. For a full walkthrough of the draft, modes, and Dynasty mode, see How to Play.

How is the season simulated — is it random, stat-based, or both?

Both. Each of your season's 20 games is weighted by your roster's average overall rating against a difficulty level that rises as the season goes on, so the back half of the schedule is tougher than the front half. A strong roster is favored in every game, but never guaranteed — there's always some randomness, so even a maxed-out roster can drop a game, and even a weak roster keeps a puncher's chance.

What does OVR mean and how is it calculated?

OVR is a player's overall rating. It's generated from their actual NFL statistical production for that season — passing, rushing, receiving, or defensive stats depending on position — run through a formula specific to their position, then ranked against every other player at that position to produce the final number. It's not a subjective or hand-picked score. In-game, players are also grouped into three tiers built on top of that rating: Elite, the baseline tier every player in the pool has cleared; Legend, for standout seasons; and GOAT, reserved for the statistical outliers at the very top of a position.

How often does the Daily Challenge roster change?

Once a day. A new Daily Challenge unlocks every day at midnight, generated from a seed tied to that calendar date — so everyone who plays Daily Challenge on a given day gets the exact same sequence of team/era spins and the exact same season outcome for a given roster. Only your first completion of the day counts toward rewards and your streak; replaying the same day's challenge won't earn anything extra.

Is my progress saved?

Yes, but only locally, in your browser's storage on the device you're playing on. There's no account system yet, so progress isn't tied to you — it's tied to that specific browser. Clearing your browser's site data, switching devices, or switching browsers will lose it. Cross-device sync isn't available yet; if it's ever added, it'll be called out here and in the game itself.

Is Undefeated: Gridiron Legends affiliated with the NFL?

No. Undefeated: Gridiron Legends is an independently developed game and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the NFL, NFLPA, or any NFL team. Player names and statistics are used in a commentary/fantasy-sports context.

Is it free? Are there ads?

Yes — the game is free to play and doesn't require an account or signup. The site displays ads to help cover hosting costs. In Dynasty mode, there are also optional rewarded ads you can watch for bonus in-game currency or a pack upgrade at the end of a season — these are always optional and never required to keep playing.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There's no signup or login anywhere in the game — you can start drafting immediately. This also means progress is tied to your browser rather than an account (see "Is my progress saved?" above).

What players and eras are included?

The player pool is built from real NFL statistical history, split into five eras spanning 2000 through 2025. When you draft, you spin for a team and an era each round rather than freely searching for a specific player — see how the draft works for the full mechanic.

What's the difference between the game modes?

Classic is the standard 12-round draft with no clock and full stats. Daily Challenge is the same draft, but seeded to the calendar date so everyone gets the same result that day. Offense Only is a shorter 9-round, offense-exclusive draft. Two-Minute Drill adds a timing-based lock mechanic to each spin. All four share the same 20-game season simulation.
